Olympic Metal Standings – Winter 2010

Written on February 15, 2010 by admin

The Olympics have always been one of my favorite events to watch. This year is proving to be no exception. The guts, sweat, tears and pure heart of these athletes once again has me moved and cheering loudly from my sofa. Although Canada’s got my biggest support (I am Canadian, eh?), I’m so proud of all the athletes, no matter their nationality and am enjoying the spectacular events they are particpating in and that we all get to be a part of.

Go Canada Go! :-)

Here are the up-to-date metal standings:

It was unfortunate that we did not get any medals in the Men’s downhill but I felt the media was hyping up our hopes beyond the realistic for some of these events. I thought Canada’s Erik Guay did an amazing job but a huge congratulation goes out to the volunteers. The snow was awfully soggy and they treated it perfectly and it held together for a lot more racers that I thought it would. Unfortunately Manny missed that turn. A very nice finish by the Canadians though overall. For those who want to experience the Dave Murray Downhill, here is the virtual Olympic Men’s downhill course. http://blog.virtualwhistler.com/?page_id=22
